Does fragrance packaging get any cuter than the new Daisy Dream from Marc Jacobs? Nope, it does not.
The last time I was really wowed by MJ fragrance packaging was with Lola in 2009. Since then, there’s been Dot, Honey and Daisy—all of which were a bit TOO cutesy, and I could take or leave. (C’mon, with Dot? Do I really want a giant red ladybug-looking thing on display?)
But now, Marc has captured my heart again, with Daisy Dream’s pretty 3D white daisies and shiny silver cap with gold studs. Did you also notice—the perfume itself is baby blue! Obviously, this is gonna look awesome on your dresser. It’s equal parts girly and graphic.
As for the scent itself, it’s a mixed bag of a whole bunch of notes: blackberry, grapefruit, pear, jasmine, lychee, blue wisteria, white woods, musks and coconut water. So yes, it’s a fruity-floral, but the key is that it’s a light one. There’s a real airiness to Daisy Dream; it’s more crisp and clean than I remember from the original Daisy. It doesn’t knock you over the head at all; instead, I’m left pressing the skin where I sprayed it to my nose, wanting more.
Is it radically different and unique? Nah. But sometimes you just want a scent that’s fresh and light, and appropriate anywhere, anytime. And that will look great in your bedroom.
The campaign was directed by Sophia Coppola, who is the go-to for ethereal, dreamy scenes. Here’s the behind-the-scenes footage:
